So Monday I had to take my sixteen year old niece to the extension office for 4-H camp. She’s a teen leader again this year. She’s changed a bit this past year and I was thinking that camp would be beneath her. Nope, she was still just as excited this year as she has been for the past several years.
So anyways, we get there and there are kids coming out of the woodwork for this camp. One girl walked up in shorts so short her butt cheeks were practically hanging out and I realized when I looked around, this was a widespread situation. Not to mention all these figure hugging tiny shirts the girls were wearing. I looked over at my beautiful size 0 niece, who has the body to pull off the tiny shorts and itty bitty shirt, but she had on cut off denim shorts down to her knees. I admit they were full of holes, but the holes were all below the ZONE, if you get my meaning. She also had on a big baggy t-shirt with no holes but a ton of paint splatters. lol I later found out the shirt belonged to her boyfriend…but that’s another story for another day.
I’m going to digress here, but please be aware that my rant in this was parents letting their daughters come out half naked and my rave is my niece
So on the way to drop her off, she’s in the backseat talking to her boyfriend and I hear her say No, *****. I said oh those are such lovely words and ***** said what and I said those beautiful words, No, *****. I said you just keep on saying those beautiful words, No, *****. She started laughing and repeated it to *****. I’m trying to be cool about this whole boyfriend thing, because I know my niece has a good head on her shoulders. I do have this driving urge though to go to where this guy works and tell him if he does anything to her I’ll pinch his head off, but you just can’t do that in polite society….can you???
